Wall coverings are becoming less and less a possibility?

I have art noveau and country french wall paper picked out but since they are $140 a roll it’s not going to happen, In the past I was just going to go for a burgundy paint but I canned that. What about putting a base coat on and then use one of those textured rollers to imprint an abstract design? How do those work? If I make more than one pass with the textured roller will it not mess the pattern up?

There are many type of decorative rollers. Some are made to use all over (to create one type of pattern). Some are used just once, per area. Read the directions before you purchase.

If you have lots of time and patience, you can create beautiful “faux” wallpaper with stencils. Try hgtv.com for directions.

Or, you could try finding a discount wallpaper vendor. Some sell wallpapers for 80% off the retail.
