im looking for a steel string acoustic guitar?

I am very serious about pursuing my interest in the guitar.
This will be my first guitar and im not sure what to look for.
also, could you suggest some good stores.

skeptical is incorrect. You are indeed looking for a steel string acoustic guitar. The other kind of acoustic guitar is a classical guitar, which uses only nylon strings and is used almost exclusively for classical music. If you put steel strings on a classical guitat it will quickly ruin it.

Go to a good music store like Guitar Center or Sam Ash and expect to spend at least $200 for a minimally acceptable beginner’s steel string guitar. Brand doesn’t matter so much but find one whose sound you like and seems comfortable for you to hold and play. Good luck.
