Phat Cats provide a great combination of output and high-end response. The tone is big, fat, and punchy with enhanced upper-mids for extra “cut.” When used together, both pickups are hum-canceling. |

DiMarzio Red Velvet Single Coil Guitar Pickup $59.95 The difference between a vintage Strat bridge pickup sound and a classic Broadcaster or Tele tone is mostly a matter of attack and definition – the Strat stings and screams, while the Tele punches and sings. DiMarzio thought it would be neat to have a Strat pickup that does both, and this is it. The punch comes from the bottom-loaded Power Plate, the sting from custom coil-winding and the Blue Velvet magnet stagger, and a unique mid-range “growl” that’s a result of a hand-calibrated magnet structure. Try a Red Velvet bridge pickup with a pair of Blue Velvet pickups for a sound that’s both classic and new. |

EMG 89 Active Humbucker Pickup with Coil Tap $110 The EMG-89 is truly two pickups in one; single and dual-coil with two separate outputs. With the single flip of a switch you can change from the crunch of a humbucker to the clarity of a single-coil. Using alnico magnets, the single-coil mode is like that of the EMG-SA, and the humbucking is patterned after the EMG-85. The tone modes can be selected with the included push-pull volume control switch or with a mini-toggle. |

EMG 89R Reverse Wound Active Humbucker Pickup with Coil Tap $110 This pickup is the same as the 89 but the coils are reversed so that the single coil side is nearer the neck to capture that sweet spot. Featuring two pickups in one, the 89R is loaded with Alnico V magnets and has separate preamps each providing custom outputs for both dual coil and single coil modes. |

Using vintage techniques, each pickup is hand-fabricated and scatter-wound. All parts of the pickup are aged and given the look of a pickup played for 40 years! Like the originals, the ferrous bottom plates are not wax-potted for that “breakin’-up Tele twang tone” that’s just on the verge of feedback.
