Lefty Left Hand

As a righty, how can I improve my left hand writing?

I can hold my pen and when I do write, the letters are distinguishable and I don’t write too slow.

However, it is no where near the level of my right hand writing. How can I improve my left hand writing?

I do know practice obviously helps but I’m more so looking for specific tips to speed up my practice.

I think it’ll be useful in school, especially when my right hand starts hurting from excessive note taking. Plus, I’ve always thought lefty’s were cool.

All the answers so far are very good and technical, but here is a tip to try, I found it helped me when I broke my hand last year. Try putting the pen between your first two fingers, a gel pen makes this easier or pencil, you will be writing with the side of pen this way, your thumb has better control of the tip to guide the shape of the letters. I found leaning to the right side and letting my arm stretch out a bit helped with angle of the letters too, instead of hunching forward and tilting the paper, like we do when we write right handed.
