Guitar Plectrums Picks
How would a sterling silver plectrum/guitar pick sound on an acoustic guitar?
For my fiance, as a way of proposing back at him, I’m ordering a sterling silver engraved plectrum. Yes, I know it will get scratched. What’s the point of fine china if you don’t use it on the people you love, or in this case, doing something you love?
I have heard the it will wear out the strings a bit faster, and if he accidentally scratches the guitar he might be screwed, but I’m not worried about that-this guitar was fairly cheap but it excellent to practice on.
I just need to know the difference in sound that comes with using metal guitar picks. Thanks!
Well, it’s going to make the guitar sound overly metallic and really not that good. I don’t mean to say that it will sound like heavy metal music – it just won’t sound right.
You can still get him the pick – that’s very nice and loving of you – but I wouldn’t really recommend that he actually use it. Maybe get a small picture frame and put it in there as a symbol/memento of your love for him and his talents.
