what’s the best way to make a guitar pick necklace?

this pick is very important to me. if i crack it accidently, that would be bad. what’s the best way to do it/what kind of string should i put on it…etc. i want it kind of short. not long at all.

Take it to a jeweler if you are wanting to drill a hole in it. They have the right tools that can do it. (I had a guy do chicken bones for me once for costume earrings.) Maybe make a border/holder for it to sit in like they do with coins or stones so that you don’t have to cut into it. Maybe encase it in plastic so it’ s like a teardrop or something…….
