guitar/bass amp cables?

so i have been playing guitar for a while and i just bought a bass. the bass cable that came with the bass was pretty crappy and stopped working within 20 min. so i just used the good quality cable i have for my guitar but like and hour latter that stopped working two. and to test for what the prob was i tested both my guitar out with both cables on both amps and that didn’t work either. is there any explanation for this or is something wrong.

Sounds like there is something wrong with the bass. I have both guitars and basses and I don’t use any certain cables. They are all for guitar. I never had this problem.
