Guitar modifications pickups/tuneing …advice on both?

i have a fender strat (not stratocaster) which i bought from a pawn shop, everyone tells me to upgrade to a MIM but I love everyhting about this guitar.
The things I want to mod are; fix the tuners so that they stay in tune longer…ive seen these tuneing lockers on Ibanez guitars, like the JEM, that make the strings stay in tune loner. Ive been looking around for them but I dont really know what they are called. Any one got any advice

if you want it to stay in tune longer just restring it with new strings
