Guitar strap lock stripped out of my guitar. How do I fix it?

Bass Guitar strap lock stripped out of my guitar. How do I fix it. I have new strap locks but I don’t want to put it in if it’s gonna strip again on stage.

decisions.. decisions,… You’ll probably get 100 remedies for this fix.. bottom line is,.. how much is the bass worth and how much are you willing to spend?.. Do you want to bring it to a guitar repair shop, and have them glue and plug the hole with some sort of an insert? Then they will drill a hole in the plug (smaller than the diameter of the strap/lock screw).. then they will screw in the strap/lock and your fixed
Guess what?… I just explained how to repair a stripped screw hole.. Go to your local hardware store.. buy a wooden dowel the same size as the stripped hole.. insert and glue with Elmer’s Wood Glue let it dry over/nite.. then tap and twist the the strap/lock in position…GOOD LUCK…(piece of cake)…
