Bag Strap Tuner

What kind of bass should I buy ?

My friend and i have decided to start up our own band.
She already knows how to play the guitar and i’ve decided to take up the bass guitar.
I have had no previous experience with the bass guitar but I do play the piano.
I saw a ESSEX bass guitar kit for $399 Australia dollars at a music store, it comes with all the essentials for a beginner (15 watt amp, tuner, strap, bag)
Is it worth buying or should I get a different brand?

Buy an Ibanez base. They are fairly cheaper than most guitars with a huge bang for your buck. I saw one that has a starter kit in guitar center in the 200’s. I think an amp is included. If not guitarcenter has some cheap bass amps for less than 100 dollars.
